But why is an insect house important in the winter?
1. Ladybugs only use a room in the insect hotel during the winter. And of course you want these insects in your garden. Did you know that they fight against aphids and spider mites?
2. The mason bee likes to take up residence in the wicker tubes of a luxury insect house. This is where they hibernate and where they breed. They lay their eggs in the holes and this they then seal with a mixture of loam and secretion. In the spring of the following year, the larvae hatch and find their way out.
